The summer reading challenge for 4 to 11 year olds is running in Wiltshire libraries throughout the Summer until Saturday 20th September. Children choose books to read with family and friends, and then talk to library staff about their reading. They collect ‘rewards’ to mark their progress, including a poster and stickers plus a medal and certificate on completion (having read 6 books). Team Read is not a competition, but a personal challenge which offers reading inspiration and incentives to encourage children into libraries during this - the National Year of Reading. Last year 6407 children registered and 47% completed the challenge. Libraries will also be having various sport themed activities too. All the activities and the reading challenge are free.
