Museum Accreditation Scheme
This national scheme is run by the Museums, Libraries & Archives Council (MLA). The scheme was introduced in 1988 as the Museum Registration scheme and continues to develop to raise standards. Museums that achieve accreditation have ensured that they meet a set of minimum standards of quality and public accountability. The Museum Advisory Service assists 19 museums in Wiltshire to achieve the standards set by MLA.
