Club and coach development

On your marks, get set, go! Club support programme

Local sports clubs provide thousands of opportunities for adults and young people to get involved with sport in Wiltshire. These are often led by volunteers who give up their time to contribute to the running of the club. We support these clubs and volunteers by providing professional support.

For more information contact sportsdevelopment@wiltshire.gov.uk or call 01225 770213.

We have a dedicated officer who works with sports clubs offering advice on sports specific funding streams and helps sports clubs make effective applications.  Sports clubs can contact, meet and discuss their particular funding needs. Contact the funding and events officer sportsgrants@wiltshire.gov.uk or call 01722 434641.

If you're looking for a sports club in your area, or wish to add your club's details to our club database, please visit Active Wiltshire.

Support available for clubs and coaches

The coach education programme helps clubs and coaches stay up to date with essential and informative courses. Wiltshire has a programme managed by WASP which offers a variety of courses. These range from child protection, first aid and fundamental movement skills to more specific workshops such as coaching disabled performers and raising the bar for coaching higher performance athletes. The programme runs from September to April annually across the county to ensure all coaches and clubs can access something locally. For more information contact Jordan Rose, WASP Sports Consultant at Jordan@wiltssport.org or call 07917 03095
