Adult - clubs and activities
Andover Triathlon Club is a very relaxed and friendly club with a wide range of abilities and aspirations. Some members do all disciplines, and some can only get involved in one or two because of injury or preference. There is something for everyone!
In terms of training, we use the swimming pool at Tidworth Leisure Centre from 5-6pm every Sunday evening. Members are split into lanes based on ability and we all do a coached training session with drills followed by strength building. Many members join barely being able to do front crawl; whilst at the other end of the scale, others benefit from training with swimmers of a similar ability, all swimming to the same session.
In terms of other sessions offered through the club, on Monday, we have a track session at the Andover Athletics track at 7.30pm. This is technique and pace awareness / strength training again, and an excellent session to improve on your running. Again, it doesn’t matter on your ability as we all just run around in a big oval so no-one ever gets left behind. We also have two club rides on a Wednesday evening and Saturday morning, the latter being more leisurely.
If you look on the website, this will give you more details about the club. If you like what you see and want to give it a go, feel free to contact us through the website and / or come and join in on any of the training sessions.Close
Children - clubs and activities
Kick-A-Bout’s coaching courses offer a fun and alternative aapproac to football training for children. We provide individually tailored courses for different age groups, ranging from 2 and upwards.
Our aim is to provide fun coaching sessions in a safe and disciplined learning environment. We provide tailored courses for different age groups starting from 2+.
We encourage the children to use their imaginations by incorporating fancy dress and visual props into story-telling sessions. Each part of the story relates to a different football game. In a typical session the children can find themselves running from monsters, collecting hidden treasure or racing in police cars!
Classes are designed to be fun, but within a more realistic football environment. By giving each child a ball right at the start of the session, they quickly feel comfortable with it at their feet. Ball confidence is then developed by playing small team matches and a variety of different 1 versus 1 games.
Jo Jingles provides music and movement classes for babies aged from 3 months old until children start attending school. Our interactive classes are fun and educational, preparing children for structured learning. Jo Jingles classes help to promote confidence, independence, social and communicative skills, as well as musical skills. Not only do we give children the opportunity to socialise and play together, introducing children to a wide variety of musical instruments and other props but we also provide an enjoyable and relaxing experience for accompanying adults too. Our classes offer quality time for parents (or grandparents, godparents, childminders) and children in a fun, safe, learning environment.
Classes currently take place on Monday mornings at 10 o'clock for children up to the age of 4; 11 o'clock for babies aged 3 months to walking.Close
