Fitness classes at Devizes

Total body workout in a one hour session. Various exercise types will be taught on this class including, aerobics and conditioning. This class offers 3 sessions of 20 minutes the content will vary weekly.

AQUA FIT

A low impact, non weight bearing exercise session in the water using resistance in the form of floatation aids.(Low Intensity-Pre/Post Natal) – Suitable for ante/post natal exercisers

Active Plus

A friendly 45 minute exercise class consisting of low impact exercise to music and toning movements.

Aerobics

An all-round exercise class of varied-intensity aerobics to develop the cardiovascular system and resistance exercises to tone the stomach, thighs and bottom and help burn fat.

Body Conditioning

This class targets all levels of fitness and includes all over muscular toning and shaping.

Contemporary Dance

Develop your posture, strength and flexibility learning some creative dance routines. A fun friendly class suitable for all age, shapes and sizes.

Circuit Training

The ultimate cross-training session using running and static exercises to enhance strength, toning, flexibility and fitness.

Core Stability

Core stability is vital for good posture and balance. Through controlled, specific exercises this class targets the muscles of the torso, improving their tone and strength.

Yoga

A fitness programme that incorporates deep stretch and yoga postures designed to greatly improve flexibility, strength, balance and posture.

Legs, Tums and Bums

Traditional Tums & bums with the added bonus of toning the legs a little bit more!

Pilates

Pilates incorporates the basics of Pilates with the added effect of toning and sculpting your body.

Step

A progressive multi-level step routine. Customers who are new to step or are unsure of their ability should speak to the instructor beforehand.

Salsa base movements to salsa music offering a superb aerobic workout.

Body Training Systems (BTS) Classes at Devizes Leisure Centre

What is BTS

(Bodypump and Bodycombat)

Devizes Leisure Centre runs an array of Body Training Systems (BTS) fitness classes. Our BTS Fitness Instructors are trained in the BTS routines and provided with exciting new music tracks every three months. This means the classes are constantly updated, but enough time is given to allow you to enjoy learning the routines and tracks.

Body Combat is a non contact, martial arts-based fitness class, which is choreographed to 10 tracks of music and provides an exhilarating exercise experience.

Body Pump is a toning and conditioning class using weights and is for anyone who wants to add strength training to their aerobic workout.

Intesity Levels

Our Fitness Instructors will make every effort to ensure that classes are accessible to all customers irrespective of their current level of fitness. Where possible alternative exercises with varying degrees of difficulty are offered within each class. However, to assist you in your initial choice, each class has been graded to indicate the intensity of exercise

  • (1) Low Level Intensity Class Suitable for customers new to exercise or who have had a period of time away from exercise
  • (2) Mid Level Intensity Class Suitable for customers currently exercising and who are looking for a more demanding class
  • (3) High Level Intensity Class Suitable for customers with good levels of personal fitness who regularly take part in strenuous physical activity
