Book Promotions
We want you to “Love Reading, Love Libraries”, and to see the library service as your first port of call for information about books, reading advice, and for book conversation.
We bring the opportunity to read/enjoy the written word to a wide range of people in the county. Did you know about the following:
- Large print books
- Audio books (CD, cassette, “Playaway”)
- Quick Reads – ideal if you want something quick, easy and rewarding
- Books in foreign languages
- Books which might be of interest to black and minority ethnic communities
- Books which might be of interest to the·lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community
We also love promoting books and reading through:
- Recommended reads
- Book reviews from library staff and library users
- Reading groups
- Books and reading links
On top of this, we take part in local, regional and national promotional activity. Current or forthcoming promotions include:
- Chippenham’s teenage book group kept a reading diary whilst shadowing the·Booktrust Teenage Prize
- National Year of Reading
- Six Book Challenge 2009
