  • eBooks will automatically expire at the end of the loan period so no need to worry about overdue charges.
  • Reserve up to 3 eBooks at a time for free.
  • Read your eBooks on a wide range of devices such as Kobo, Sony and Nook eReaders as well as the iPhone, iPad, Android and Kindle Fire devices.
  • Unfortunately this service is not available on Amazon Kindle eReaders.
  • The text in eBooks can be enlarged on most devices so all titles can be read in large print.

How to download an eBook

Step 1: Browse

Step 2: Borrow

  • Find a title that you would like to read and click on ‘Borrow’.  Enter your library card number and PIN and this item will be added to your bookshelf.  It can then either be downloaded or read online via OverDrive Read.
  • If the eBook is already on loan to another customer, you will be given the option ‘Place a Hold’ rather than ‘Borrow’.  If you ‘Place a Hold’, you will receive an email when this title becomes available.

Step 3: Download ... enjoy!

To your smart phone or tablet:

  • Click ‘Download’ to download the eBook onto your smart phone or tablet within the app
