Corporate directors appointed

I believe this new management structure will enable us to deliver our ambitious business plan, which reflects what Wiltshire deserves

Baroness Scott of Bybrook OBE, Leader of Wiltshire Council

Two new corporate directors have been appointed as part of our new management structure that will lead the delivery of an ambitious 10 year business plan.

The council's Officer Appointments Committee has appointed Alistair Cunningham as corporate director for growth, investment and place, and Terence Herbert as corporate director for children and education.

They will join Dr Carlton Brand who was appointed corporate director for communities, transformation and resources last month, and Carolyn Godfrey, corporate director until she retires in October.

Baroness Scott of Bybrook, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said:

"I believe this new management structure will enable us to deliver our ambitious business plan, which reflects what Wiltshire deserves.

"I am pleased that we have appointed internally as this demonstrates that we have developed the skills, knowledge and experience to support the effective succession in these senior roles. This is something I am keen to see at all levels across the council."

The new structure is in place to support the council's new business plan which was agreed by councillors last month. The council's vision is to create strong communities, with the key priorities of growing the economy, protecting those who are most vulnerable, and ensuring that the council is innovative and effective in how it delivers services.

The external recruitment process for the joint role for adult care and health and chief accountable officer for the Clinical Commissioning Group is ongoing.
