European Parliamentary Election Results declared in Wiltshire

The European Parliamentary Elections count for the south west has completed with the results now declared.

In Wiltshire the results were in after seven hours of counting.

The turnout for Wiltshire was 43.64% with 159,544 people voting in the Wiltshire Council area out of 365,628 eligible voters.

The breakdown in Wiltshire was as follows:

Change UK The Independent Group 5073

Conservative and Unionist Party 17875

English Democrats 944

Green Party 25751

Labour Party 6679

Liberal Democrats 39811

The Brexit Party 56613

United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) 5010

Larch Maxey (Ind) 168

Mothiur Rahman (Ind) - 66

Neville Seed (Ind) 344

The overall regional declaration of results for the south west and the Gibraltar region was declared by BCP (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole) Council in Poole.

Dr Carlton Brand, Local Returning Officer for Wiltshire said: "Thanks to all the amazing volunteers who have helped during the verification and count for the election. It was a very long day but it has gone very well. It's been a busy six weeks organising this election and it was positive to see the turnout increased compared with 2014."
