We encourage service personnel to consider making their home here in Wiltshire and this fair is a great showcase for the opportunities and the support available

Service personnel planning their next steps can find a range of information and help available at the Tidworth Life Skills Fair this month. Dozens of organisations will be attending the fair to provide advice and guidance for the whole service family including soldiers, spouses, families and veterans.

The event on 24 May from 10am to 2pm at the Tidworth Garrison Theatre will have more than 50 organisations representing education and training, housing, finance, welfare and health.

The fair is organised by HQ South West and supported by Wiltshire Council and Swindon Borough Council. It will build on the success of the Tidworth Job Fair held in March which attracted hundreds of service personnel who were about to leave the Armed Forces.

Carolyn Godfrey, corporate director at Wiltshire Council said: This is an excellent opportunity for the entire service family to get advice and support on education, training, health, housing, finance and welfare. We encourage service personnel to consider making their home here in Wiltshire and this fair is a great showcase for the opportunities and the support available."

Event organiser Major Taniya Morris said: "We are opening this Life Skills Fair to the whole Service Family it is a fabulous opportunity for everybody to find out about all the opportunities that exist to develop the important skills that support a rewarding and successful life. We will also be hosting a number of house purchase seminars throughout the day so please come along and find out what opportunities are available to you."
