Wiltshire charters course for better information sharing

The Wiltshire Information Sharing Charter (WISC) was launched at an event for stakeholders at County Hall, Trowbridge.

WISC has been introduced to assist in lawful and integrated sharing of data between partner organisations. It establishes consistent and robust protocols to ensure people's data is managed correctly.

Organisations who sign up to the charter are provided with a toolkit to assist with sharing of information within their organisation and across partner organisations.

The aim is for WISC to provide the foundation for the sharing of personal information between partner members in the public, private and voluntary sector organisations to improve the provision of services to the residents of Wiltshire.

Cabinet member for IT, Philip Whitehead, said: "I was pleased to be invited to open the launch event for WISC and to promote the benefits for Wiltshire residents and organisations by adopting this common-sense collaborative approach.

"Everyone will work to the same guidelines enhancing the services that we deliver and provide peace of mind for our residents about how we handle their data."
