Wiltshire Council controls a total of 68 surface and multi storey car parks across the county. We also provide five park and ride sites on the outskirts of Salisbury.

The car parks are all controlled by a legal order:

Within all council-operated car parks, you must not:

  • Overstay the maximum permitted time.
  • Stay in a pay and display car park without prominently displaying a valid ticket.
  • Park other than wholly within a marked bay.
  • Park in a space reserved for disabled persons (other than permitted exemptions).
  • Park a goods vehicle other than within a marked bay.
  • Advertise or carry out any trade or business.
  • Return within the stated time of ticket expiry to any car park (or areas thereof) where a maximum time limit is stated.

Contravention of the above orders could result in a penalty charge of up to £70, with a discount of 50% if paid within the first 14 days.
