Customer notice

In case of any emergencies please see our Facebook or Twitter pages.

What should I do if I return to the site after it has closed?
  • If you return after 8pm please press the help button on the exit gates. This will contact the CCTV control centre, who may be able to raise the barrier for you.
  • CCTV cannot currently open the barriers at the Petersfinger site outside of our opening hours. You must collect your car between 7.15am and 7pm.
Can I leave my car parked overnight?
  • Yes, but this is at your own risk and the council accepts no responsibility for any damage that may occur to your car. At Petersfinger you may only enter/exit the site between 7.15am and 7pm.
  • The charge is £2.50 per calender day and this must be paid by phone. Your Park & Ride bus ticket includes free parking from 6am to midnight, so you only need to pay the overnight charge for days that are not covered by your ticket.

What is the cost of using the Park & Ride if there are more than four people in a car?

  • If more than four people are travelling together, you will need to pay the group fare for the first four passengers, then £1 for every person after that. However, please remember that you will all need to travel together on the same bus and that any child under the age of 7 can travel free of charge.
Can I use my concessionary bus pass?
  • If you have a Wiltshire countywide concessionary bus pass for the elderly and disabled, you can use the Park & Ride service for free. There are no barriers and you just need to show your pass on the bus.
  • If you have an English concessionary bus pass for the elderly and disabled, which is issued by an authority outside of Wiltshire, you can use the Park & Ride service for free after 9.30am on weekdays and at anytime on Saturdays.

  • You may use a Wilts & Dorset Dayrider or Salisbury Dayrider on any Salisbury Park & Ride bus.
  • You may use a Wilts & Dorset Saver ticket on the 505 to Petersfinger. This is valid at all times for journeys from the city centre. It is valid after 10am only for journeys that start at the Petersfinger site.
  • You may be able to use a Wilts & Dorset Saver on the 501 Beehive service. Please check with the bus driver for conditions.
  • Saver tickets are not valid on other services. The council does not receive any revenue for bus pass use from the bus pass issuing company.

Can I use a Wiltshire Day Rover ticket on the bus
  • Yes.
I have a Zip card - are these still accepted?
  • No. The Zip card system has been phased out in favour of the new multi-journey tickets. If you have any money left on your Zip Card, you will be able to get this refunded or exchanged for the new tickets at the Wiltshire Council offices on Milford Street.
Can I catch the bus if I don’t park my car at the site?
  • Yes, the bus fares are the same.
I am disabled, can I use the service?

Is there a height limit?
  • Yes, the height restriction at all sites is 2.4 Metres (8 foot).
  • However, the Britford site has a large dedicated area with no height restrictions for oversize vehicles.

Can I Park & Cycle or Park & Walk?
  • Yes. You may park your car for free at our sites and then cycle or walk into Salisbury.
Can I park and go to Tesco or to nearby shops and businesses?
  • You will not be able to take your shopping trolley back to your car
  • You should pay the £2.50 parking fare. This must be paid by phone.

Can I take my dog on the Park and Ride bus?
  • Yes, you may take a well behaved dog on the bus but it must remain on the floor at all times.
  • Please be advised that the discretion to allow a dog onto the bus remains entirely with the bus driver and that he/she can decline to allow boarding if he/she is at all unhappy with the animal. If the dog is inclined to bark or be snappy then it may be wise to let it wear a muzzle for the journey.
What facilities are available at the car parks?
  • All our sites are covered by CCTV. Employees of the bus company Hatts will often be on site, and members of our Parking Services team will also make regular visits to each site.
  • Each of the site specific pages details the facilities available at each site:
    Britford
    Beehive
    Wilton
    London Road
    Petersfinger
Who should I call if I have lost something?
  • Please call Hatts on 01722 782776.
Who should I contact if I would like to complain about the service?
  • In the first instance please call 01225 718080 or email parkandride@wiltshire.gov.uk. However, if the complaint is about the bus service, we may have to forward this on to Hatts.
Who runs Park and Ride
  • The Park and Ride service is run by Wiltshire Council. The bus service is contracted out to Hatts Coaches
Are Sat Nav details available?
Could the Park & Ride buses be extended to serve places without regular services?
  • Most parts of Salisbury are served by frequent bus services operated by the Wilts & Dorset bus company and the Park & Ride buses are not allowed to compete with these. However, our Petersfinger service already picks up other passengers along the Southampton Road, and during the summer we will be extending the Beehive Park & Ride buses to serve the business park and the new housing estate at Old Sarum - more details of this will be available shortly.
Why doesn't the council reduce the off-peak bus services to save money?
  • Buses and drivers are hired by the day, so we cannot make savings by cutting the off-peak services in the middle of the day. These services tend to be used by shoppers, particularly on market days. They also provide commuters with flexibility and we would lose customers if we cut these services.

How do I get to the rail station or the Law Courts
  • The Wilton Service stops on Fisherton Street, which is a two minute walk to the Rail Station. It also stops outside the Law Courts on Wilton Road. If you are using any of our other services, you can change buses in the city centre. You will not need to pay extra. Please ask your bus driver for directions.
