This waiver is a permit that will allow contractors and tradesmen to park in areas where parking restrictions are in force while they are working; e.g. on-street in any of the resident zones and if absolutely necessary, on double yellow lines.
Tradesman waivers are issued on a case by case basis. The vehicle has to be essential to the site work and needs to be continuously accessed. If you are working at several locations on the same day, you need to apply for a waiver for each location because they are only valid at the place stated on the application form. The waiver is also only valid for one vehicle.
The council can decide to refuse or restrict the issue of a waiver at its discretion. We do not normally issue a tradesman’s waiver if there is reasonable off-street parking nearby, or if we think the waiver is going to be used for convenience rather than out of necessity.
