Major highway schemes
About this service
We are responsible for highway improvement schemes within Wiltshire as set out by the Local Transport Plan which states the objectives, implementation plans and targets for transport over a 5 year period.
Highway improvements on trunk roads are the responsibility of the Department of Transport.
Wiltshire Council is responsible for a number of ongoing major transport projects. The Highway Improvement Team manages these projects from conception, through scheme development and consultation, final approvals, to the completion of work on site.
We are currently promoting major schemes in Salisbury and Westbury as part of Wiltshire's strategy for transport improvements.
