The Kennet Local Plan 2011 is the current local development plan for the east Wiltshire area of the county. The following documents are available to download from this page:

What is the status of the Local Plan?
The former Kennet District Council adopted the Kennet Local Plan 2011 in June, 2004.
Wiltshire Council has inherited the local plans produced by the former district councils in Wiltshire. These will remain in place until superseded by policies in the Wiltshire Core Strategy, which will be adopted in autumn 2012.
'Saved' policies within the local plans (see below) will be used to inform decisions on planning applications. The application of these policies will be based on the previous administrative boundaries to which they originally related.
'Saved' Policies
On 26th September, 2007, the Secretary of State issued a direction setting out the policies within the Kennet Local Plan 2011 that can be 'saved' beyond 26th September, 2007. These saved policies will remain relevant unless superseded by national guidance or until the adoption of the Wiltshire Core Strategy.
The following document sets out the current extant (saved) policies of the local plan. Schedules providing the reason for either saving or not saving policies are appended to this document. The information is provided to give guidance on where alternative policy advice is to be found in the case of those policies not saved.
Copies of the direction, the schedule of saved policies and the accompanying letter from the Secretary of State are also available to download below.
