Household recycling centres

There are currently 10 Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) across Wiltshire, recycling a wide range of materials.

Find your nearest household recycling centre and opening times

Materials that can be recycled at these sites include:

  • car batteries, tyres and oil
  • rubble and soil
  • garden waste
  • plastics- only ones with the numbers 1, 2 and 3
  • tetra paks and other cartons.
  • cardboard
  • tins of paint
  • glass bottles and jars
  • steel and aluminum cans and tins
  • textiles, clothes, curtains, blankets and shoes
  • newspapers, junk mail, white paper, magazines and yellow pages
  • fluorescent light tubes
  • metals and timber
  • electrical items
  • pesticides and chemicals
  • household furniture items
  • spectacles
  • gas bottles

You can now take all your batteries to you nearest household recycling centre

  • Plasterboard can only be taken to - Amesbury, Devizes, Honeyball, Melksham, Salisbury, Stanton st Quintin and Warminster HRC's.
  • Asbestos can only be taken to - Purton, Salisbury and Warminster HRC's.
