What are household recycling centres?

Household recycling centres are large recycling sites where Wiltshire residents can take their waste, recycling and bulky household waste items. There are 11 large sites around Wiltshire for residents to use.

Where is my nearest household recycling centre?

There are currently 11 household recycling centres (HRCs) located across Wiltshire, recycling a wide range of materials.

What are the opening times for the household recycling centres?

Household recycling centres are open 7 days a week.

Summer 1 April – 31 October Winter 1 November – 31 March

Where can I take asbestos?

Cement bonded asbestos can only be taken to three household recycling centres:

  • Purton
  • Warminster
  • Salisbury

Please check with us to find out your nearest site and get guidance on how to safely dispose of your asbestos.

Mini recycling sites

In addition to these 11 household recycling centre locations Wiltshire Council operates over 200 mini recycling sites. These mini sites are conveniently located in supermarkets, school and village hall car parks. Materials that can be dropped off vary by location.

Consultation on waste and recycling services

We have now launched a public consultation into waste and recycling services, specifically mini recycling (bring) sites and Household Recycling Centres.
