About this service
Free School Meals are available for pupils where the parents or guardians are in receipt of any of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
- Child Tax Credit (providing the annual household income is less than (£15,575)
- Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999
Free School Meals are NOT available where the family is eligible for any element of the Working Tax Credit.
Most application forms are processed by the Student Finance Team at County Hall but there are a number of schools who administer their own applications. The school will advise you if this is the case.
