School and college transport

We provide free or subsidised transport to school or college for over 11,000 young people every day, including over 2,000 post-16 students and around 1,000 pupils and students with special educational needs.

Primary and secondary school transport

We provide free or subsidised transport for Primary and Secondary Pupils in accordance with the Council's policies, which are based around national legislation, and there are entitlement criteria against which we assess all applications.

For more information, please see Primary and Secondary School Transport.

Transport to sixth forms and colleges

We run a subsidised transport scheme for Further Education students aged 16-19 at the start of their course under which transport is provided to students attending, and living more than 3 miles from their designated school or college.

Special education needs transport
