One-to-One Tuition

Welcome to the Wiltshire One-to-One Tuition Programme website home page

The Programme is a key part of the government strategy on ‘Planning and Teaching for Progression.’Other components are:

  • quality first teaching and APP
  • wider intervention
  • progression targets

Linked closely to the recent White Paper: “Your Child, your school, our future: building a 21st century schools system” the One-to-One Programme is inseparably linked to the white paper ‘Pupil Guarantee’ in two particular aspects:

  • that every pupil, aged 7 – 11 who has fallen behind national expectations, and is not making good progress, receives one-to-one tuition in English and / or mathematics to get them back on track
  • that every pupil beginning secondary school behind national expectations in English and / or mathematics receives one-to-one tuition.

Government funding is available for this work in Wiltshire schools. Funding will grow to meet demand over the next two years.

On this website you’ll find information for all those involved, including Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) guidance and Wiltshire LA documents.

The site is arranged in four sections of information for:
