Corsham British School Trust Fund

The Corsham British School Trust Fund is a registered charity. The terms of the Trust are as follows:

  • to promote the education of persons under the age of 25 who are in need of financial assistance and are resident in Corsham;
  • to provide items, services and facilities for Corsham Primary School; and
  • to promote charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of Corsham by assisting organisations operating in the Parish to provide or hire facilities for meetings, lectures and classes.

Who Can Apply?

Applications for funding will be considered from groups, organisations, schools and individuals.

How Do You Apply?

Please contact the Trust Fund Administrator at educationaltrusts@wiltshire.gov.uk in the Integrated Youth Service who will be able to tell you when the next awards will be made.

What Happens Next?

When funds are available for distribution, local groups, organisations, schools and individuals are invited to submit bids for financial assistance with projects that meet the terms of the trust.

All applications submitted by the closing date are considered and awards approved by the Director for Children & Education.

Warminster Close School Trust Fund

The Warminster Trust Fund provides financial assistance to residents of Warminster in promoting education, including social and physical training. The terms of the Trust are as follows:

  • providing scholarships, allowances or grants towards any school, university, college of education or further education (professional or technical);
  • providing financial assistance towards school clothing, equipment or books, travel expenses, music or other arts to help residents of Warminster with their education;
  • providing special benefits for children in Warminster schools that are not provided for by the Local Education Authority; and
  • providing financial help in promoting religious education, such as Sunday School.

Who Can Apply?

Applications for funding will be considered from parents, students, young persons, groups and organisations who are resident in Warminster.

What Happens Next?

When your completed application has been considered, we will write to you to tell you about our decision.

William "Doc" Couch Trust Fund

The William "Doc" Couch Trust was set up in 1998 as a registered charity to provide financial help to children and young people, resident in Wiltshire, who are under 18 years old and have a disability or other needs.

Who Can Apply?

All applications for financial help will be considered but the Trust would not normally help towards school/college transport costs or school fees. This is because normally there are other suitable options from public funding. Each project must show that it will mainly support children and young people who meet the terms of the Trust.

The Trust will give priority to applications in the following groups:

  • grants to individuals or organisations for equipment to help young people under 18 years old, who live in Wiltshire and have a disability or other needs;
  • financial help to community projects or events where it can be shown that the users will be young persons who are under 18 years old, who live in Wiltshire and have a disability or other needs; or
  • grants to schools who need financial help to support low income families or others in need, for school activities such as music, sport, drama and trips - the Trust will give the most help to schools in areas of greatest need.

What Happens Next?

Awards are made on an annual basis from the Trust. Application forms will be available in July.

The closing date is 20 September 2011

All applications are considered by the Trust's Advisory Panel. All applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of October 2011.

Colonel William Llewellen Palmer Charity

The Colonel William Llewellen Palmer Educational Charity was established in 1992 and is a registered charity. It is administered by the Director of Education and the terms of the Trust are:

  • to promote the education of children and young people attending schools maintained by the Local Education Authority in Bradford-on-Avon;
  • to promote the education of children and young people under the age of 25 who have attended schools or are resident in Bradford-on-Avon and need financial assistance; and
  • to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the recreation and other leisure time occupation of the children and young people of Bradford-on-Avon.

Applications for funding will be considered from parents, students, young persons, groups and organisations.

Withy Trust

The Withy Trust was established in 1985 to support young people living in Wiltshire who are "poor in pocket but rich in merit" and is a registered charity.

Who Can Apply?

  • Parents of young people aged between 11 and 18 living in Wiltshire who need help with financial costs such as school trips, uniform, specialised equipment or tuition
  • Students who live in Wiltshire who need help with college or university expenses

How Do You Apply?

If you are a student or a parent of a young person please contact the Trust Fund Administrator  (email - educationaltrusts@wiltshire.gov.uk) in the Integrated Youth Service  who will be pleased to send you an application form.

In order to comply with the terms of the Trust, you will also need to send proof of income to support the "poor in pocket" element and a report from the school or tutor to support the "rich in merit" element.
