Shortcuts for school admissions

Monday 18 April 2016 is National Offer Day for Primary Schools

Online applications

If you have submitted an online application for a primary school place before the national deadline of 15 January 2016, you will be able to view the outcome of your application online from Monday 18 April 2016 using the online system after 7am. Please note decision(s) will not be available before then.

You will need your username, as well as your password so that you can view the outcome of your application. If you have forgotten your username or password you will be able to reset it by clicking on the relevant link. Both links can be found on the home screen of the online application system.

All online applicants will also be sent a letter confirming the outcome of the application. Letters will be posted out on 18 April 2016 so applicants should receive their letters within a couple of days.

Please note that no decision on applications will be given out over the telephone.

How to accept or decline your place

If you have submitted an online application you must accept or decline the offer of a school place by Tuesday 3 May 2016 using the online system, which will close at midnight on 3 May 2016.

Appeals and waiting lists

Details on how to appeal for any school which your child has been refused a place at, as well as details on how to add your child's name to the waiting list will be contained within the outcome letter which will be posted to you on 18 April 2016.

Making a further application for an alternative school

It is important to understand that only one offer of a school place for each child can be held at any one time.This means that if you submit a new application for your child, your new preferences will automatically supersede any preferences named on your earlier application. Please note that if any of your new preferences are agreed, the place previously offered will automatically be taken away.

Paper applications

If you have submitted a paper application for a primary school place before the national deadline of 15 January 2016, the outcome of your application will be posted out to you on 18 April 2016. Please note this is the date that the letter will be posted and not the date that you will receive it.

Please note that no decision on applications will be given out over the telephone.

How to accept or decline your place

Please complete the acceptance/decline slip which is attached to the letter and return it to the Local Authority no later than the 3 May 2016.

Applications submitted between 15 January 2016 and 25 April 2016 will receive written notification on 20 May 2016.
