Closing Dates for the 2010 Intake
The closing date for applications to be made for a Wiltshire primary school is noon, 20 November 2009. All applications must be returned to: The School Admissions Team, Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 8JN by this date. All applications will be acknowledged on receipt; if you have not received acknowledgement within 15 school days of posting your application, please contact Customer Services on 01225 713010.
The school to which you are applying may require you to provide further information, such as a baptismal certificate, or wish for you to complete a supplementary form. For details, please contact the school directly.
If your application was received by the School Admissions Team before the deadline of noon, 20 November 2009, the outcome will be posted to you on 4 February 2010.
If your application arrives after the deadline date, other than in exceptional circumstances (as listed in the admissions guide 'Finding a Primary School Place'), it will not be considered until after 18 February 2010.
Applications Made Outside of the Normal Year of Entry
If you wish to change your child's school other than at the normal intake times, which are reception or year three (junior schools only), this is considered to be a transfer application. Transfer application forms can be obtained from your preferred school or from Customer Services on 01225 713010.
Transfers
You should not remove your child from school until a place has been secured at an alternative school which can be taken up without a break in attendance. In cases where the transfer is not related to a house move, this action should be taken as a last resort, only after contacting the current school.
If you are moving house, applications should be made where possible, prior to the move date.
Voluntary Controlled and Community Schools
Applications made to voluntary controlled and community schools will not be considered more than a term in advance and in most circumstances, admittance will be from the beginning of a term (September, January and April).
