SEN review - changes to SEN funding for mainstream schools

The SEN review Consultation (February - May 2010) sought views about whether the funding of SEN provision in mainstream schools should be considered again.  There was strong support for doing this.  Following work with schools, new funding arrangements have been agreed and will be in place from April 2011.  To find out more about how this was agreed, go to SEN consultations  SEN consultation .  To find out more about the new funding arrangements go to Wiltshire's SEN funding factsheet

SEN review - special schools and post-16 task group

Councillors have agreed to establish a task group to look at Wiltshire's special schools and post-16 SEN provision.  For further information about the scope and timescale of the group's workk, go to SEN consultations SEN consultation.

SEN review - specialist SEN provision from September 2011

Following statutory notices, members have agreed the pattern of SEN provision across Wiltshire, from September 2011.  For more information, go to SEN Consultlations SEN consultation

Updated SEN documents available to school electronically

Annual Review forms have been updated and you can download them now.

The Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) self evaluation tool 2010 has been developed to help schools evaluate their SEN provision. This replaces the self-evaluation tool of 2007 and you can download a copy now. A paper copy will be sent out to all Wiltshire schools during the autumn term.

Speech and Language Therapy Service

Wiltshire's new countywide service for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs has a new webpage on the Wiltshire Council website. Visit the page to find out more about the service, read regular update bulletins and link to resources on the NHS Wiltshire website.
