The Core Service
The Core Service currently works within Local Education Teams (LETs) in the four areas of the county - Kennet, North, Salisbury & West. A team of Behaviour Support Teachers and Behaviour Support Assistants work to support and challenge schools in their approach to positive behaviour management.
Referrals to the service come from schools through a Common Assessment Form (CAF), through Pupil Review in School Support Meetings (PRISSMs) or from Schools Branch.
Advice and strategies for managing behaviour may be offered to staff, or work with individual pupils may be undertaken. Training for staff is also offered - either tailored for individual need, or on area basis.
Primary Tuition Service
The Primary Tuition Service provides full-time, appropriate education for pupils who are out of school. These may be children with medical needs (identified via the school’s Education Welfare Officer) or those who have received permanent exclusions from their mainstream primary schools (identified through a Permanent Exclusions Notice sent to the Exclusions Information Officer). The tuition service offers education through tutoring at home or other venues. Pupils may also participate in group work to improve their social, emotional and team-building skills.
