Mere Museum. Principally a local history collection, including a photographic archive. Displays are changed every two months and include travelling exhibitions.

Open: Mon & Fri 2-7.30pm, Tues 10am-1pm, 2-5pm.

Redcoats in the Wardrobe, Salisbury. This fine historic house is the home of the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment.

Open: April-Oct daily 10am-5pm, Feb, March and early Dec Tue-Sun 10am-5pm. (01722 414536)

Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum. Home of the Stonehenge Gallery, this museum has displays of early south Wiltshire, Old Sarum, and the history of Salisbury including the Giant and Hob Nob.

Open: Mon-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun in July & Aug 2-5pm. Admission charge. (01722 332151).
