Road - markings and signage - tourist signs (brown tourism signs)
Summary of Service
The Policy for providing signs to tourist establishments has been suspended pending a review by the VisitWiltshire Tourism Partnership and unfortunately we are unable to consider new applications at this time.
The key aims of the new Policy will be:
- To establish which businesses qualify as a tourist destination.
- To ensure that the provision of signs is considered in recognition of the quality and level of service offered by an establishment.
- To promote road safety and alleviate traffic management concerns.
- To give protection to the environment and street scene.
- To introduce a regular assessment of successful establishments.
It is anticipated that a draft policy will be available for consultation by the end of 2008.
