Summary of Service
- Local Transport Plan (LTP) - The LTP sets out the County Council's objectives, implementation plans and targets for transport over a five-year period.
- Freight - The need to achieve a more sustainable distribution of freight that balances the needs of the economy, the environment and society.
- Public Transport - maintain and enhance the quantity and quality of public transport in the County.
- Sustainable Travel - TravelWise - To raise awareness of the problems of car dependency and to promote more sustainable travel such as public transport, cycling and walking.

Local Transport Plans
The Government's 1998 White Paper on Transport, 'A New Deal for Transport: Better for Everyone', introduced the concept of Local Transport Plans (LTP) to steer the development of national transport policies at the local level.... See the Local Transport Plan pages.

TravelWise
Our aim is to change journeys to school or college by helping to create the conditions in which more pupils, students, and their parents will want to use their cars less, walk and cycle to school or college more, and make better use of public transport.
