If you have heard that you must stay on at school until you are 18, it's
not true!
By 2013 the aim is for you to stay in some type
of learning which
could be further study or a job with training.
This is to make sure that
you have
options to train and study in areas that interest you and prepare you for working.
When
you are 16 your options are to:
- go to a school 6th form or to
a college or training provider
- study for qualifications like a Diploma,
A Levels and vocational qualifications
- apply for an Apprenticeship
- start
work in a job with accredited training – that’s training which leads to a qualification
- prepare
to study for higher level qualifications at college or university when you are 18.
