Wootton Bassett Taxi Service
A flexible transport service for villages south of Wootton Bassett, offering door to door access for the general public using a taxi operating at bus fare rates to the town of Wootton Bassett.
The Wootton Bassett Taxi Service is a flexible transport service that can be booked between any of the following villages, or from these villages to Wootton Bassett;
- Tockenham, Tockenham Wick, Bushton, Broad Town, Cotmarsh, Clyffe Pypard, Thornhill, Grittenham, Sodom.
The service has arrival and departure times that offer journey opportunities to and from Wootton Bassett
The service runs every Monday to Saturday. (There is no service on Sundays or Bank Holidays).
All journeys before 12 noon must be booked by 4 pm the day before you travel. If you intend to travel on Monday morning, you should book your journey no later than 6 pm on the Saturday before you travel.
All journeys that run after 12 noon can be booked a minimum of 2 hours before that time on the same day of travel. The service will not operate if no bookings are received.
You may be required to share your taxi with other users travelling to or from Wootton Bassett and where possible the taxi will collect you and drop you to your door.
Charges for the service are as close to normal bus fares as possible and do not currently vary with distance travelled.
The taxi is wheelchair accessible and can carry up to seven people, or five seated people and one wheelchair user.
From Monday 29th January, 2007 bookings for the service must be made by calling 01249 890794.
The service is operated by Bradies Taxis and Private Hire and is funded through a Department for Transport Rural Bus Challenge funding award.
