Cllr Dominic Muns, Portfolio Holder for Education said: "I am delighted Work Wiltshire has received a Gold Service Award for dedication to apprenticeships and the regional network.

"The team has been working to raise awareness among individuals and local employers of the opportunities and benefits of apprenticeships for many years and this is well deserved.

"We would encourage people of all ages and stages in their careers and employers to visit the Work Wiltshire website or make contact with the team to learn more about how apprenticeships work https://workwiltshire.co.uk/apprenticeships/ (opens new window)."

Nigel Fenn, SWAAN Chair said, "I am delighted to announce that Wiltshire Council - Work Wiltshire has won an award in recognition of its commitment and support for the various activities arranged by SWAAN to promote apprenticeships this year.

"The criteria for consideration included - participation in events, completing the quarterly Key Performance Indicator return, submitting a website bio, logo and testimonial, providing a case study/celebratory slide, PR for the network and /or engaging via social media and introducing employers to the network.

"Well done and thank you for all that you are doing to support and grow the outreach of the Apprenticeships Ambassador Network in the South West."

During the last year, the team has worked hard to engage with audiences about the benefits of apprenticeships, whilst encouraging employers to access the funding and incentives on offer through the Plan for Jobs.

The team has also shared good news apprentice stories and employment opportunities with local employers.  This has seen an increase in local SWAAN membership which now includes the National Trust, RSM Accounting, Knorr Bremse, Voluntary Action Swindon, Wincanton and Longleat.
