Garden waste collections

Register or renew your subscription, and collection charges

The garden waste collection service runs yearly, from June, but you can register throughout the year.

If you no longer want your garden waste collected, simply do not renew. We can remove your unwanted, empty bin, if you request a bin/container removal (opens new window).

Register or renew your subscription

You must register to have your garden waste collected. If you are already registered, you still need to renew your request for the service each year.

Collection charges

If you are registering for the first time, the charge will be based on the month you are registering - see the table below.

Collection charges

Month of registrationCost
April, May, June, July, August 2024£70
September, October, November, December 2024£43
January, February, March 2025£18

What the charge covers

Your payment will cover the emptying of one 180 litre bin, every two weeks, until 30 June each year. You may request as many bins as you wish, each charged at the same rate and paid as separate payments.

In areas where we think the storage space or point of collection is unsuitable for wheeled bins, we will provide and empty up to four green reusable bags.

Ways to pay

You can pay online by debit or credit card. If you experience problems using the online payments page you can Report a problem with this page (opens new window).

How we know to collect your bin

Your house name or number should be shown clearly on your bin
Once you have subscribed, your address will be added to a collection round so the crew knows to empty your bin. Make sure your house name or number is clearly displayed on the back of your garden waste bin, below the handle.

Requesting additional bins

There is no limit to the number of garden waste bins you can have per address. You will need to register and pay for any additional bins using our Register or renew online (opens new window) form.
