Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing Centre will be used as an administrative location during the forthcoming local elections.
We will endeavour to minimise the disruption to your facility access as much as possible, but there will be some impact to services during this time.
To enable our Election team time and space to prepare for the count, casual Sports Hall bookings between Friday 25 April - Friday 2 May will be extremely limited.
On the day of the election count itself; Friday 2 May, the sports hall, squash courts and all communal areas in the building, including the atrium and reception, will be closed to leisure members. This will come into effect at 8.45am and be in place until the end of the day.
General information - Friday 2 May
We will still be able to offer early morning swimming until 8.30am, and gym sessions / cycle classes throughout the day, but there will be some changes to access points that you will need to be aware of prior to your visit:
- The car park will be unavailable from 8.45am for the remainder of the day on Friday 2 May
- Car park marshals will be in place from 8am to 6pm support you
- Temporary signs will be in place to help guide you to entrances and exits
- Booking remains as normal and please ensure that if you cannot make your session, that you cancel it beforehand to help ensure that as many spaces are available for customers who wish to visit.
- The Wood Bar and vending service will be unavailable on 2 May
Gym visits
- There will be a temporary entrance / exit through one of the fitness suite fire doors for all sessions on 2 May
- The atrium will be out of use, so your attendance will be logged within the gym by our teams.
- Junior sessions remain as normal, please ensure that if you cannot make your session that the Centre is notified in advance
Cycle Classes
- Will continue as planned - please check in for your session in the gym no more than five minutes before your class start time.
- There will be a temporary entrance / exit through one of the fitness suite fire doors for all sessions on 2 May
Early morning swimming visits
- The early morning swim will run from 6am until 8.30am
- The swimming pool will then be closed for the rest of the day
- Access to the swimming pool for the early morning swim will be through the main reception area
- Following your swim, you must exit no later than 8.45am, via your normal route
- Signage and staff will help to direct you
Swimming lessons
- Unfortunately, due to the scale of the election count we will be unable to run any swimming lessons on Friday 2 May.
- Adjustment will be made to your direct debit to account for this in the June direct debit.
Gymnastics lessons
- Unfortunately, due to the sports hall being used throughout the period 25 April to 2 May, we will be unable to run any gymnastics lessons on Friday 25 April, Monday 28 April, Thursday 1 May or Friday 2 May.
- Adjustment will be made to your direct debit to account for this in the June direct debit.

Normal service will resume from 6.30am on Saturday 3 May, when the front entrance will be back in use.
