The Hearing Process for Appellants

The decision

Each appeal will be considered on its own merits.

The decision will take full account of all submissions and information submitted to the panel, the Schools Admissions Policy, the School Admissions Appeals Code 2022 (opens new window) and the School Admissions Appeals Code 2021 (opens new window).

The Appellant and the representative of the Admissions Authority and School will be notified by email of the decision usually either the day of the Appeal or the day after the Appeal. They will also be notified in writing as soon as possible and usually within 5 school days of the hearing.

If the appeal has been upheld contact will be made by a representative of the Admissions Authority or the School to make the necessary arrangements. If you do not hear from them please make contact.

There is no right of appeal against the decision of the panel.

This process is intended as a guide and procedures may be subject to slight changes.
