Integrated review for 2 year olds

Between two and two-and-a-half is an ideal time to check a child's learning and development and to celebrate developmental milestones. If extra support is needed there is also still plenty of time to do something about it.

All parents are invited to bring their child at two years and three months for an individual appointment with their health visitor; together the Ages & Stages (3) and Social and Emotional questionnaires are completed. Any concerns and actions identified will be recorded in Child's Red Book (Personal Child Health Record) and, with consent, will be shared with the child's early year's provider.

If a child is with an early year's provider between the ages of two and three there is a statutory requirement to coproduce with parents an Early Years Foundation Stage Progress Check. Likewise any concerns identified by the provider when completing this check, with written parental consent, will be shared with the child's health visitor.

The health visitor and early years provider will be working together to give parents a complete picture of the child's development.

Any concerns and actions will be followed up by these professionals.
