Amesbury road works

Porton Road Resurfacing Works

Wiltshire Council will be closing Porton Road, Amesbury during July 2021 to undertake resurfacing and associated works. The works have been phased to minimise the impact to road users and local residents, details of the phases can be found below. We will look to maintain access to the business park for as long as possible, in doing so we will need to install temporary traffic signals which may cause some delays in the area.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to make themselves known to the workforce who will look to accommodate access where possible. Signage will be erected to advise that businesses are open as normal.

Scheme phases

These works are being phased to maintain access to the business parks along the site. The phasing is as follows:

Phase 1 - Access from north (resurfacing taking place from Boscombe Road roundabout north to the Mills Way/Sunrise Way roundabout) - 6-9 July

Phase 2 - Access from south (resurfacing taking place from Mills Way/Sunrise Way roundabout north to the Solstice Park roundabout) - 12-14 July

Phase 3 - Lining and Ironwork all areas- 15-19 July (no weekend working)

During phase 3 there will be working in both sections, this is more minor works and therefore access will be maintained - there may just be short instances where those requiring access will be asked to drive the diversion route and gain access from an alternate entrance.

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions.
