New housing developments

Delivery of affordable housing and recent new housing developments.

What we do

The Housing Enabling Team assists in the delivery of new affordable homes across Wiltshire for applicants on the Homes4Wiltshire (opens new window) housing register to rent or to buy on a low cost home ownership scheme.

The involvement of Registered Providers (Housing Associations), working with us, the Wiltshire Housing Development Partnership and Homes England (opens new window), is the most effective way of delivering affordable housing. We aim to make the best use of available resources to provide value for money and create a balanced housing market, providing a mix of housing types and tenures to meet local needs.

We deliver affordable housing through a variety of ways:

  • Private developments under planning agreements
  • Private sites which are developed for 100 per cent affordable housing
  • Rural housing including exception site developments
  • Existing properties bought on the open market

The council operates a subsidy free approach to the delivery of affordable housing on Section 106 sites.

Affordable Housing is delivered in line with Wiltshire Council's adopted Core Strategy.

Shared ownership

Shared ownership addresses the affordability challenges facing first time buyers, see Shared Ownership properties and HM Government - Own your home (opens new window) or by contacting the Registered Providers directly.

Recently completed developments

This lists the Affordable Housing units completed over the last 6 months in Wiltshire.

Forthcoming developments

This lists the anticipated delivery of Affordable Housing over the next 12 months. This information does not necessarily include all the affordable housing units being delivered on a site; further units may be delivered in later phases.

If you believe your current home is unsuitable and want to know if you could join the Housing Register, please call the Housing Solutions Service on 0300 456 0106. A Housing Caseworker will advise you of your options and whether you have a housing need. All homes are allocated fairly and equitably according to housing need. If you're already registered for re-housing, please watch out for adverts online. For online housing advice, please see our Housing advice page.

This list is accurate at the time of publication in May 2022 although the exact quantity and tenure of new homes on any site may be subject to minor changes.
