Bishops Close Sheltered Housing, Mere
Bishops Close, Mere BA12 6HN is an approximate 15 minutes walk to the town centre. Mere is a historic small town on the SW of the Salisbury plain with shops, a chemist, GP, library, pubs and churches.
It is on a bus route to Gillingham, 4 miles away which has shops, supermarkets, restaurants and the Rivers Meet leisure centre. Amesbury and Salisbury are each approximately 25 miles away.
Bishops Close offers 8 single and 2 double bedroomed bungalows for social rent. Each bungalow has a private garden and there is also a central courtyard. There is gas central heating and the charges include a 24/7 emergency alarm line. Some parking is available for residents and visitors.
There are no communal facilities but residents are welcome to share the residents' lounge, laundry facilities and kitchen at the nearby Lynch Close sheltered scheme, also run by Wiltshire Council.
Bishops Close is on quite a steep slope. There is no mobility scooter store.
