Marlborough Leisure Centre

• A temporary gym is now available in the small hall, throughout the duration of the project while work on the main gym is being carried out. All equipment in the current gym will be re-provided in the temporary gym.
• As a result of the small hall being utilised for the temporary gym, this will have an effect on our group exercise class timetable. Classes will be relocated to the sports hall and we will provide details of a revised programme, while the project is ongoing, in due course.

• The intention is that the swimming pool will remain open for the duration of the works with the exception of the 8am - 9am session each day, which will be unavailable. Swimming lessons will also continue as normal throughout the duration of the works.
• Swimming pool changing rooms are unavailable throughout the project and temporary male / female group changing units and toilet facilities will be provided. There will be no shower facilities in the swimming pool area. Customers are encouraged to attend their swimming sessions 'swim ready', similar to the arrangements during the pandemic. 
• A single temporary toilet facility will be directly accessible from the swimming pool during the course of the project.

• The improvements we are making to the fitness suite will result in the permanent removal of the squash courts, one of which was already being used for soft play. There are alternative squash facilities in the town at Marlborough College and the college has confirmed to us, they are happy for people to contact them about this for more information.
• The squash court will cease to be available from Sunday 10 November
• Soft play sessions will cease to be available from Saturday 2 November but as a result of this work soft play equipment will be upgraded, and we will be facilitating a number of programmed soft play sessions for families to enjoy, rather than the permanent facility that we currently offer. These will be available once the improvement work has been completed.
• The significant improvements we have outlined will also result in the permanent closure of the health suite at the leisure centre. These facilities are expensive to maintain and run, and they also have an impact on our carbon footprint as an organisation. Permanently closing the facilities at Marlborough will allow us to incorporate the space into the wet change and create a much bigger changing area, ensuring we can meet the health needs of more of the local community.

We will adjust our Life Zone, Fitness Zone, Swim Zone, Young Adult and Junior Zone direct debit memberships by 15% during the project and this will commence on Tuesday 5 November.

This arrangement will remain in effect until the project is complete, when memberships will revert to their standard rates.

Annual memberships will be extended by 15% of the remaining membership duration.

There will be no change for Swim School memberships.
