Local Authorities are responsible for licensing premises used for all forms of gambling, with the exception of the National Lottery.
Lotteries and amusements and gaming machines now come under this Act.

Gambling Principles Policy 2025-2027 Consultation
A four-week consultation took place between 9 July to 5 August 2024 to review the Statement of Gambling Policy. See Summary of comments on Gambling Consultation 2024 (PDF, 248 KB)(opens new window) for the comments and responses made as part of the consultation.
The Statement of Gambling Principles Policy 2025 - 2027 was formally agreed at Full Council on the 15 October 2024.
Licensing Authorities are required to review their Statement of Gambling Principles Policy every three years and Wiltshire Council's current policy must be renewed by October 2027.
