Wiltshire Local Transport Plan

A Local Transport Plan (LTP) outlines a local authority's approach to managing transport in a way that supports local needs, growth, and sustainability goals.

Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4)

Our current plan (LTP3) ends in 2026 and we are in the process of drafting our fourth edition, which will be known as Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4), covering the period to 2038.

We want to know what you think

We are holding an online consultation on LTP4 from Thursday 28 November 2024 to Friday 24 January 2025. To take part, and tell us what you think, use the following link:

  • decarbonisation
  • health
  • safety and wellbeing

Five stages to LTP4

  1. research and scope - review the previous LTP and review background policy and geographical context
  2. issues and options - develop the challenges, vision and objectives for LTP4
  3. develop - confirm approaches and develop strategies to achieve our vision; and produce draft LTP4 documents
  4. consultation - hold a public consultation on LTP4 and report on its findings
  5. finalisation and adoption - update final LTP4 with consultation feedback and adopt LTP4
