What's happening in Wiltshire
Wiltshire Council has been awarded £2.1 million of government funding to give adult learners a chance to develop their numeracy skills.
Multiply is here to support adults aged 19+ courses will give adult learners a chance to develop the numeracy skills to be more confident at home and work. There are a number of courses on offer, ranging from face-to-face to online provision.

Modules can be completed at the learners pace, in their own time around their life responsibilities.
They include:
- handling debt
- multiplication
- division
- measure
- gambling
- rounding and estimating and many more!

Rebel Business School
Online workshops to help you establish your business. Examples of content include;
- how to start your business for free
- how to build a website with no money
- negotiations

Oxford Health
One to one tutoring service offering Maths support which can lead to industry recognised qualifications.

- Family and Community Learning - courses include balance your budget, shop for less, saving energy.
- Wiltshire College - Basic Maths Courses for upskilling and increasing confidence in a number of locations across Wiltshire.
- Wiltshire Wildlife Trust - Wild Figures a six-week outdoors course, including a range of activities to support people's wellbeing and improve number confidence such as budgeting, supporting children or grandchildren with maths, timekeeping, reading timetables.
- Inspire - Maths for Business - if your business is established or you are a start-up, this one day workshop can support you.
- Wiltshire Citizens Advice - if you need support around your finances, Citizens Advice can support you to understand numbers better in turn helping you to improve your finances.
- Chippenham Community Hub - drop in for support, from working out your bus timetable, working on your finances or supporting your child with their Maths homework.
- Cooking on a budget - develop your numeracy skills to enable you to cook on a budget, you will also receive a food parcel of ingredients and a recipe card to take home and cook a meal with. Based in Trowbridge and Devizes. To book email multiply@wiltshire.gov.uk (opens new window).
- Construction Maths skills - this 12-hour courses will incorporate core numeracy skills for working in the construction industry, along with supporting participants to achieve the CSCS card with the intention of progressing participants to secure employment in the construction industry. - Wiltshire Libraries - The Libraries at Wiltshire Council have a wide range of maths themed books, eBooks and audiobooks for you to explore. Visit our eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines page and explore the Library catalogue (opens new window). We are also running free craft and advice sessions at Chippenham Library which will help boost your confidence and improve your everyday maths skills. Crafts range from making tote bags to macramé whilst advice sessions are informal with a cuppa and cake and one to one support just for you. You'll receive free retail Evouchers for taking part.
