Council's response to Storm Ciara keeps Wiltshire moving

The team received more than 140 reports of fallen trees and other incidents over Saturday and Sunday, and using a triage system to prioritise the major routes on the network, the team has cut up and removed more than 100 trees throughout the county.

Cllr Bridget Wayman, Cabinet Member for Highways, said: Our dedicated Highways teams have been working around the clock throughout the weekend to keep Wiltshire residents safe and the county's road network moving.

Wiltshire took a good battering from Storm Ciara, our strongest storm in several years, and it is a testament to our teams' hard work that they have removed so many fallen trees and obstructions in such a short space of time.

Teams are still out responding and assessing the road network as the clean-up after the storm continues, and if people spot any issues, I'd urge them to please report them on our website, and our teams will respond.
