Engineers have been working to resolve the issue today. County Hall will be closed again tomorrow, Tuesday 27 July.
Engineers have been working to resolve the issue today, but to allow the room to dry out and ensure all systems can be switched on and tested safely before reopening, County Hall will be closed again tomorrow, Tuesday 27 July.
The library and reception and other services will remain closed to the public while the incident is dealt with. This includes the Wiltshire Register Office, which has temporarily relocated to the Chippenham Office at 4 Timber Street Chippenham and is available by appointment only.
Those who have a ceremony booked at County Hall over the next few days will be contacted to discuss arrangements and advise of any necessary changes. Telephone death registration appointments are not affected and will proceed as booked.
People can still access services online on the usual numbers and via the other council hub buildings in Chippenham and Salisbury.
We will provide updates and will advise when County Hall can reopen, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.
