Devizes Leisure Centre refurbishment project nearing completion
The major refurbishment work at Devizes Leisure Centre is reaching its final stages with the fitness suite due to reopen from Monday 21 October.

Works have been taking place since May, funded by the council's ongoing investment in its leisure facilities, and the centre will soon boast a:
- revitalised, modern gym facility with improved air conditioning, lighting and audio-visual systems and door access system
- new consultation room
- revamped weights room
- refurbished fit-for-purpose, air-conditioned, first-floor dance studio.
The dance studio reopened for group-exercise classes in September.
Similar to the upgrade projects that have recently been completed at Olympiad in Chippenham and Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing Centre in Salisbury, gym users will be able to enjoy all-new, modern and sought-after equipment. The dedicated free weights room now features an Olympic lifting rack, Smith Machine and 4-in-1 rack, and in the brand-new functional fitness zone, users can try out the newly installed curved treadmills, Watt bikes, tyre-flip and rig areas.
A membership offer will be available between Monday 21 to Wednesday 30 October to encourage people to come and try out the new facilities. Those who join with a Life Zone or Fitness Zone direct debit membership will pay no admin fee, saving £25. Full details are available at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/leisure-devizes.
Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Cabinet Member for Leisure, said: It's great to see another one of our leisure refurbishment projects completed. We are really excited for users to visit and start using their new Devizes Leisure Centre gym. We are keen to encourage people to prioritise both their physical and mental wellbeing, which is why we made the decision to invest into our facilities to provide the highest quality equipment and opportunities.
For those people who aren't yet a member but want to come along and try out the new facilities, you can take advantage of the re-opening membership offer and save £25 - just speak to the team at the centre.
We thank the customers for their patience whilst the works were taking place and we hope that you find the new facilities much more enjoyable to use.
With the completion of the refurbishment project, availability in the main hall for bookings such as five-a-side, netball and badminton will be back to full capacity and block bookings can resume. Members who had seen their monthly membership fee reduce by 25% due to the inconvenience will revert to their normal monthly price with effect from 21 October.

Wiltshire Council also has plans to carry out improvement works at Marlborough Leisure Centre and Warminster Sports Centre, with work due to get underway in the coming weeks. A planning application (PL/2024/08255) has also been submitted to build a new leisure centre in Trowbridge, with people able to provide any representations before 11 October 2024.
