Distillery provides a helping hand to local schools
A local distillery is offering a helping hand to local schools who are running out of hand sanitisers.
Because of heightened demand, schools have run low on stocks. Last week we put out a plea on social media for local businesses to help with hand liquids and cleaning.
Ramsbury Brewery and Distillery, based in Marlborough has stepped forward and can provide schools with stocks to top up diminishing supplies.
Ramsbury has already turned its focus to creating hand sanitisers for a range of local organisations and now it's offering the same service to schools.
Cllr Pauline Church, Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Skills said: "Schools are providing a vital service, staying open so our most vulnerable pupils and those children of critical workers can be cared for during the school day if they need it. We are delighted there is a local solution to ensuring schools do not run out of essential supplies and we're pleased Ramsbury Brewery has stepped forward to provide this service."
Operations Manager and Master Distiller Tibor Horvath said: "The team have done an amazing job to turn this around so quickly and are working incredibly hard. We've been distilling 24/7 seven days a week since we found out there was a shortage to ensure we can get as much sanitiser out as we possibly can. We are extremely proud to be making a difference to those on the frontline and helping our community. "
