Durrington Swimming Pool due to reopen following major refurbishment

Durrington Swimming Pool is re-opening to the public on Monday (16 September), following extensive refurbishment works totalling £230,000.
Improvements to the fitness suite, swimming pool and boiler room have been made.
The improvements include:
- Complete re-lining of the swimming pool
- Swimming pool surround tiling replaced with modern, anti-slip surface
- Upgrade of boiler room pipework
- Fitness suite decorated and new flooring installed
Allison Bucknell, Cabinet Member for Leisure said: "I'd like to thank our customers for their patience while these essential works have taken place. I'm delighted with the results and I'm sure you will be too. We can't wait to welcome you all back to the pool and show off the huge improvements the centre has made."
This is part of a wider series of developments including installation of a new front entrance and new windows, which cost £60,000. There has also been work taking place behind the scenes to make the building more efficient and reduce the number of required service/maintenance visits per year.
Durrington Swimming Pool is right at the heart of the Durrington community serving people of all ages.
It is hoped that the existing community and those new to the community, particularly military residents, will enjoy the newly refurbished facility for activities, such as swimming lessons, fitness classes, exercise programmes, fun swims and children's parties.
The excellent team of staff are only too willing to help you with your goals, whether that be fitness or just good fun. For more information please contact durringtonsp@wiltshire.gov.uk
