Families invited to get involved in shaping the future of SEND services in Wiltshire

Wiltshire Council is asking parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and or disabilities (SEND) to help shape how services are provided in the future

Wiltshire Council is asking parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and or disabilities (SEND) to help shape how services are provided in the future.

The local authority regularly reviews the way it works with families and partners to ensure the support and advice is the best it can be. Feedback from families is one of the key factors in making sure it's effective.

Parents are encouraged to join a face-to-face event on 18 September at the Devizes Corn Exchange in Devizes from 10am to 2pm. This will be the first step in the process to ensure the SEND strategy for 2024 and beyond is ready and fit for purpose.

Cllr Jane Davies, Cabinet Member for SEND said: "We want to hear from as many people as possible so that the way we work with families is the best it can be in the future.

"Our business plan clearly sets out that we want the people of Wiltshire to be empowered to live full, healthy and enriched lives. A key part of this will be ensuring our SEND families have access to the right services and are involved in key decisions for the future. I would encourage as many people as possible to attend."
