Final Local Plan consultation events to be held in Calne, Westbury, Salisbury, Tidworth and Warminster

Events will be held at Calne Library, Leighton Recreation Centre in Westbury, Salisbury Library, Tidworth Leisure Centre and Warminster Sports Centre, where you can find out more about the Plan and how to comment. All events are being held from 3pm to 7pm, apart from the Westbury event, which is being held from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.

Cllr Nick Botterill, Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning, said: Next week sees the last of 16 in-person sessions for our Local Plan consultation, and it's an important opportunity for people with an interest in planning and housing growth in the areas of Westbury, Salisbury, Tidworth, Ludgershall and Warminster to turn up to these events to find out more and ask questions of our planning officers.

We are committed to an effective Local Plan that delivers sustainable growth for Wiltshire. The Plan contains policies that ensure we only build as many homes as we need to, that we maximise building on brownfield sites, and also make sure we build enough affordable homes. It also contains policies that ensure all new developments have to meet zero carbon standards and have cycling and walking connections.

Once the Plan is adopted, all planning applications will be determined against it, making it the most important place-shaping document for Wiltshire, so please take the time to take part in the consultation and have your say.

People can share their views through the council's online portal, and anyone without internet access can visit a library to use the computers there, or contact the council to get a written copy of the representation form and find out how to view the documents.
